Diwali 2023 Celebrations: Auspicious Timings for Laxmi Puja, Prosperity and Peace

Celebrating Diwali with Auspicious Rituals: Diwali, the festival of lights, is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the nation in 2023. This year, the festival is marked by several auspicious alignments, significantly elevating its importance. Worshipping Goddess Lakshmi during the Pradosh Kaal on Diwali is a deeply rooted tradition aimed at bringing peace, prosperity, and tranquility.

Shubh Muhurat: The Best Times for Diwali Puja: The auspicious timings for Diwali Puja have a special significance. This year, Diwali falls on a Sunday, during the Kartik month’s Amavasya (new moon day). The Amavasya tithi begins at 2:44 PM on Sunday and ends at 2:56 PM on Monday. Performing Puja during the Pradosh Kaal on Amavasya is considered particularly fortunate, and this year, it coincides with several rare astrological yogas.

A Confluence of Celestial Events: Notably, this Diwali is unique due to the simultaneous occurrence of multiple auspicious yogas, including Mahalakshmi, Gajakesari, and Shash Mahapurush Rajyog, which haven’t coincided together in decades. Astrologers highlight the significance of this alignment, promising lifelong abundance and success for those who engage in Puja during this period.

Rituals and Timing: For business owners, the recommended time for office or business establishment Puja is between 1:13 PM to 2:39 PM. For households, the evening Pradosh Kaal from 5:17 PM to 7:55 PM is ideal, particularly in the Vrishabha Lagna between 5:28 PM and 7:24 PM. The night-time or Nishitha Kaal Puja is also significant, especially between 11:24 PM and 12:17 AM.

Diwali Day Rituals: On Diwali day, it is customary to light a lamp for Lord Vishnu in the morning, perform Tarpan and charity rituals in the afternoon, and worship deities like Shri Ganesh, Lakshmi, and Kubera in the evening. There’s also a belief that worshiping Goddess Kali during Mahanishi Kaal fulfills desires and grants victory over adversaries.

Astrological Insights and Remedies: Astrologers suggest various rituals for health, wealth, and success. Lighting a five-wick lamp with mustard oil, reciting specific stotras, offering prayers to Lord Ganesha, and using unique items like Betel leaves and Makhana (Fox nuts) in rituals are some of the recommended practices.

A Day of Shopping and Festive Preparations: The markets buzzed with activity on the eve of Diwali, with people buying decorative items, lamps, sweets, clothes, and gifts.
