Subrata Roy Passes Away: Sahara Group Founder's Demise After Prolonged Illness in Mumbai
Subrata Roy, the chairman of the Sahara Group, passed away on Tuesday night in Mumbai after a battle with prolonged illness. Roy, aged 75, succumbed to cardiorespiratory arrest following complications from metastatic malignancy, hypertension, and diabetes. He was receiving treatment at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Medical Research Institute since November 12 when his condition worsened.
Roy’s mortal remains will be flown to Lucknow by a special aircraft and are expected to arrive at Amausi Airport by late afternoon. The Sahara Group has announced that the body will be kept at Sahara City in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, for public homage. It is anticipated that employees and associates from across the country will gather in large numbers to pay their last respects. The funeral rites are scheduled to take place at Baikunth Dham in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
